Frequent Symptoms
- Requests hang only for large payloads
- Intermittent TLS handshake failure over VPN/tunnel
- Retransmission spikes without obvious app errors
Triage
- Probe MTU with
ping -M do -s <size>.
- Capture ICMP fragmentation-needed packets.
- Adjust interface MTU and/or TCP MSS.
